Life in the Middle of Everything: Soapmaking, Motherhood, Homeschooling, and Spring Cleaning Our Home & Business

Spring always feels like a reset in our home — even if our days are anything but quiet. Between homeschooling, running a small soap business, and keeping things steady while my husband works full-time and travels for baseball umpiring, our life is full in the best (and busiest) ways. Soapmaking has become my little pocket of calm. It’s where I get to slow down, stir warm oils, breathe in fresh scents, and create something comforting for other families. As we head into spring, I’ve been refreshing my shelves, restocking favorites, and making room for new blends — which is exactly why I’m excited to share our Spring Clean Sale with you.

🌿 The Rhythm of Our Days
Most mornings start with coffee, kids, and a quick mental checklist of lessons, chores, and batches I need to pour. Homeschooling means our days don’t follow a traditional schedule — we learn in pockets, in conversations, in the middle of real life. Some days the math lesson happens at the kitchen table; other days it happens while I’m cutting fresh soap and explaining how measurements work.
It’s not perfect or tidy, but it’s ours.

🧼 Soapmaking as My Creative Reset
In the middle of the noise, soapmaking is where everything slows down. There’s something grounding about warming oils, blending scents, and watching a batch come together. It’s creative, but it’s also calming — a little ritual that reminds me to breathe.
Every bar I make is touched by real life: the kids asking questions, the dog barking, the timer going off for lunch. It’s handmade in the truest sense.

⚾ Holding Down the Fort While My Husband Travels
My husband works full-time and also umpires baseball, which means spring is one of his busiest seasons. Some weeks he’s home for dinner; other weeks he’s in another town calling games. We’ve learned to make the most of the time we have and to support each other’s passions — his on the field, mine in the workshop.
Running a business while he’s away so often has taught me flexibility, patience, and how to carry a lot at once. It’s not always easy, but it’s meaningful.

🏡 Spring Cleaning in Real Life and in the Shop
Spring always brings that urge to refresh — to open windows, declutter corners, and make space for what feels new. That same energy shows up in my business too.
This season I’ve been:
Clearing shelves
Restocking customer favorites
Retiring a few scents
Making room for new blends I’m excited about
Organizing my curing racks and supplies
It feels good to reset both my home and my workspace at the same time. And that’s what inspired this year’s Spring Clean Sale — a chance to share that fresh-start feeling with you.

🌸 Why This Sale Matters to Me
This isn’t just a “clear out inventory” moment. It’s a way to:
Celebrate the season
Make room for new creations
Share cozy, comforting soaps with families who love handmade
Keep my small-batch workflow manageable
Every order supports our family, our homeschool, and the little pockets of calm I find in soapmaking.
💛 Closing Thoughts
If you’re in a season of refreshing your home, your routines, or your self-care, I hope these soaps bring a little comfort into your day. Thank you for supporting my small business, my family, and this creative life I get to build — one batch at a time.
